SYDNEY (Reuters) - Daniel Radcliffe, the actor behind the boy wizard Harry Potter, is hunting for a mystery Australian girl who cast a spell on him at a film awards party, local media reported on Monday.

Radcliffe, who started playing Potter in the popular Harry Potter movies when he was 11, has often spoken about not being able to find a girlfriend.

But Sydney's Daily Telegraph Newspaper said Radcliffe, 18, now wanted help to track down a woman he met briefly at a film event in Australia.

"She stared at me all night and I was going to get her number and then I couldn't find her," Radcliffe told the newspaper.

"I must have walked around that party for an hour trying to look for this girl, like some sad pathetic dweeb, but it would have been worth it."

The Daily Telegraph has started its own search for the mystery beauty, asking the young woman to contact the newspaper.

LONDON: Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe has proven his astuteness by earning 13 million pounds in just one year.

The 18-year-old has proven to be not only a laudable actor but also a good business entrepreneur, having invested millions from his earnings in property and businesses.

The English actor's assets is said to have risen by 3 million pounds since last year, excluding the 8 million pounds he made from Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.

Gilmore Jacobs, a company that is owned by his parents Alan and Marcia, even though they have stipulated that all the riches belong to him, is said to have made a good profit.

According to the figures for Gilmore Jacobs, it shows that in 12 months he put 4 million in cash in the bank, had investments of 7 million pounds and was owed 2 million pounds in outstanding payments.

The figures have just been lodged at Companies House and cover the year to August 2007, reports The Sun.

In December 2007, with his fortune being estimated at 25 million pounds, Radcliffe paid 2.2 million pounds for a pad in Manhattan, which he plans to rent out at 10,000 pounds a month.

Another venture of his is the Almada Productions, which had been set up to develop scripts, and which made a 67,000 pounds profit last year.

Daniel, who has been the Quidditch-playing hero since 2001, took full control of his earnings when he turned 18 last July.

Warner Bros. has conjured up some Hollywood magic for the final installment of the wildly popular "Harry Potter" movies, splitting the seventh and final book into two films.

Part one of "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" will debut in late 2010 and be followed months later by part two.

"We feel that the best way to do the book, and its many fans, justice is to expand the screen adaptation of 'Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows' and release the film in two parts," Jeff Robinov, president of Warner Bros. Pictures Group, said in a statement.

The first five films in the series have been huge hits with a total global box office nearing $4.5 billion. The sixth movie is now being filmed.

The movies are based on British author J.K. Rowling's best-selling fantasy novels about the adventures of boy wizard Harry Potter and his friends as they grow from kids into teenagers at the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

"Deathly Hallows," the seventh and final book in Rowling's series, was published last July to huge fanfare, selling some 11.5 million copies in its first 10 days in the United States.

But the final volume is a long saga at more than 750 pages, and it is filled with many twists and turns as Harry and his friends Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley wrap up their story lines. Harry faces -- once and for all times -- the dark Lord Voldemort who murdered his parents.

Because of the many adventures in "Deathly Hallows," Rowling, the movies' producers and Warner Bros. all agreed that two movies were necessary to truly tell the end story.

"'The Deathly Hallows' is so rich, the story so dense and there is so much that is resolved that after discussing it with Jo, we came to the conclusion that the two parts were needed to do it justice," said producer David Heyman, who first took the project to Warner Bros. in 1997.

The books and movies also have been a huge money maker beyond theater box offices and DVDs. They have spawned products from toys to T-shirts to a planned theme park.

By some estimates, "Harry Potter" represents a $20 billion business, so an eighth film will likely only expand the enterprise.

Daniel Radcliffe, who plays Harry, and his co-stars Emma Watson (Hermione) and Rupert Grint (Ron) are now filming the sixth movie -- "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince." All three have said they would appear in "Deathly Hallows."

Warner Bros. is a unit of media giant Time Warner Inc.

A publisher has agreed to delay the release of a Harry Potter encyclopaedia after being sued by author JK Rowling.

Publisher Roger Rapoport said the book will not be published until a judge rules on whether it violates Rowling's intellectual property rights.

A judge in New York has issued an order barring completion, distribution, marketing or advance sales of the book until further notice.

Written by Steve Vander Ark, it was scheduled for release on 28 November.

Entitled Harry Potter Lexicon, it is based on material from an internet fan site of the same name.

Mr Rapoport, whose company is based in Michigan, said he had given a copy of the Lexicon to Warner Bros lawyers - who hold the copyright to the Harry Potter books - in the hope that they would read it and decide that it did not violate copyright.

"I think they should drop it. I'm hopeful that they will," he said.

'Massively disappointed'

Rowling's lawsuit, filed on 31 October, sought an injunction blocking publication of the book on the grounds that it would borrow too heavily from her work and spoil plans to eventually publish her own encyclopaedia of Harry Potter's world.

Rowling had supported the Lexicon website, but she and Warner Bros said they saw a difference between fans publishing information for free on the internet, and selling it in the form of a book.

Rowling said she took "no pleasure" in preventing the Lexicon's publication.

"On the contrary, I feel massively disappointed that this matter had to come to court at all," she said.

"Given my past good relations with the Lexicon fan site, I can only feel sad and disillusioned that this is where we have ended up."

LONDON - J.K. Rowling has completed her first book not to feature teen wizard Harry Potter an illustrated collection of magical fairy stories titled "The Tales of Beedle the Bard."

Only seven copies of the book are being printed, Rowling said Thursday. One will be auctioned next month to raise money for a children's charity, while the others have been given away as gifts.

Rowling drew the illustrations herself and provided the handwriting for the five stories that make up the collection of fairytales.

"The Tales of Beedle the Bard" is mentioned in the final Potter book, "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows," as a gift left by headmaster Albus Dumbledore to Harry's friend Hermione, and provides clues that help destroy evil Lord Voldemort.

"'The Tales of Beedle the Bard' is really a distillation of the themes found in the Harry Potter books, and writing it has been the most wonderful way to say goodbye to a world I have loved and lived in for 17 years," Rowling said in a statement.

The volume, bound in brown morocco leather and mounted with silver and semiprecious stones, will be auctioned at Sotheby's on Dec. 13 with a starting price of $62,000. Proceeds will go to The Children's Voice, a charity that helps vulnerable children across Europe.

"Deathly Hallows," the seventh and final installment in Harry's adventures, was published in July. The seven books have sold nearly 400 million copies and have been translated into 64 languages.

Rowling told the British Broadcasting Corp. that the book of fairytales had helped her say goodbye to Harry's world.

"It's not about Harry, Ron and Hermione, but it comes from that world," she told BBC radio in an interview broadcast Thursday. "So it's been therapeutic in a way."

Rowling said she was working on a new book, "a half-finished book for children that I think will probably be the next thing I publish."

On Wednesday, Rowling and the makers of the Harry Potter movies filed a lawsuit against RDR Books, a small U.S. publisher that plans to bring out a companion volume based on the Harry Potter Lexicon fan Web site.

Rowling has said she plans to produce her own encyclopedia of the wizarding world and says the book would infringe on her intellectual property rights.

Rowling a facut cateva dezvaluiri despre finalul celui mai bine vandut roman al tuturor timpurilor. In emisiunea "Today", ce va fi difuzata de postul TV NBC, Rowling a povestit celor 14 fani, stransi in jurul ei, in timp ce se afla la Castelul Edinburgh din Scotia, cum renumitul magician isi gaseste linistea, alaturi de familia iubita. Scriitoarea, in varsta de 42 de ani, a declarat ca scrierea paginilor de final din serie a obligat-o sa priveasca in urma, la ultimii 17 ani din viata sa, si sa isi aduca aminte de diverse lucruri: "Am rememorat nasterea celor trei copii ai mei, cele doua pierderi suferite si destramarea unei casnicii. Dar si multe momente fericite".

Harry, Ron si Hermione

Stim ca Harry se casatoreste cu Ginny si au trei copii, creandu-si astfel mediul familial calm si linistit de care nu a avut parte in copilarie. Cat despre ocupatia sa, Harry impreuna cu Ron, lucreaza la Ministerul Magiei, Departamentul Aurorilor, iar dupa toti acesti ani, „micul magician” este acum in fruntea departamentului.

„Harry si Ron au revolutionat complet Departamentul Aurorilor", specifica Rowling. „Ei sunt acum experti. Nu conteaza ce varsta au si ce altceva au mai facut”, a adaugat ea.

Intre timp, Hermione, sotia lui Ron, este „destul de avansata” in Departamentul de Aplicare a Legii Magice, cu toate ca s-a amuzat la ideea de a deveni avocat in „Deathly Hallows”.

„Mi-am imaginat ca inteligenta ei si cunostintele sale despre modul de operare a Magiei Negre i-ar oferi o baza temeinica”, spune Rowling.

Harry, Ron si Hermione nu s-au alaturat aceluiasi Minister al Magiei cu care au fost incompatibili ani de zile; ei l-au revolutionat, ministerul devenind „un loc cu adevarat bun”. „Au creat o noua lume”, a spus Rowling.

Soarta scolii Hogwarts

La 19 ani dupa lupta de la Hogwarts, scoala de magie, farmece si vrajitorii, este condusa de un nou director („McGonagall s-a descurcat destul de bine”), si are un nou profesor de Aparare contra Magiei Negre.

Pozitia sa de profesor este la fel de sigura ca si a celorlate cadre didactice, dupa ce moartea lui Cap de mort a rupt vraja care nu permitea unui profesor sa ocupe acest post mai mult de un an.

Rowling nu a spus exact daca Harry, Ron si Hermione s-au reintors la scoala pentru a-si termina studiile, insa a precizat ca l-ar vedea pe Harry purtand "vechile discutii" cu profesorul de Aparare contra Magiei Negre.

Mai mult Harry Potter

Rowling a declarat ca va dezvalui mai multe detalii despre a Harry Potter intr-o enciclopedie care sa includa mai multe amanunte despre fiecare personaj si intamplare din cele sapte carti.

"Au existat foarte multe detalii pe care am vrut sa le scriu, dar la care am renuntat ulterior pentru ca nu erau atat de relevante. Acum le pot face publice, iar cititorii vor intelege mult mai bine intreaga poveste", a declarat scriitoarea.

"Ma confrunt cu obsesia fanilor care doresc neaparat sa afle care este prenumele stra-stra-strabunicului lui Harry Potter, asa ca aceste informatii vor fi binevenite", a adaugat autoarea romanului.

Fanii cartilor Harry Potter au inceput sa semenze o petitie online prin care o roaga insistent pe autoarea JK Rowling sa continuie seria cartilor despre tanarul vrajitor, informeaza rte.ie. Fanii au fost foarte suparati la aflarea vestii ca cea de-a saptea carte, Harry Potter si Ingerii Mortii, care urmeaza a fi lansata pe 21 iulie, va fi si ultima publicatie a seriei.

Rowling a dezvaluit ca in aceasta ultima carte doua personaje vor muri, iar in jurul acestei declaratii au aparut speculatii potrivit carora unul dintre ele va fi chiar Harry.

Lantul de librarii Waterstone a lansat campania “Save Harry” pe site-ul www.waterstones.com/saveharry, unde fanii pot semna petitia pentru continuarea Harry Potter.

Waterstone a transmis urmatorul mesaj: “Daca Sherlock Holmes, Dennis Watts, Superman si Bobby Ewing au putut sa invie, atunci in mod sigur reincarnarea nu ar trebui sa reprezinte o problema pentru cel mai puternic tanar vrajitor din lume - asta, bineinteles, presupunand ca Harry va muri in Harry Potter si Ingerii Mortii.”

Un deceniu in lumea lui Harry Potter, un deceniu de vrajitorii, lighioane fantastice si afaceri incredibile. Pe data de 30 iunie 1997, scriitoarea J. K. Rowling publica primul volum din seria Harry Potter, carte ce fascineaza milioane de oameni de pe tot globul si care a devenit o industrie in sine.

De la lansarea primului volum, "Harry Potter si piatra filozofala", cartile au castigat o imensa popularitate si un succes comercial pe toate meridianele, batand orice record in materie de literatura pentru copii. Primele sase volume (intreaga serie va avea sapte volume) s-au vandut in peste 325 milioane copii si au fost traduse in peste 63 de limbi.

A saptea si ultima carte din seria Harry Potter, "Harry Potter si Ingerii Morti" este programat sa fie lansata pe data de 21 iulie 2007. Numai pentru piata americana, editorii au anuntat un record de 12 milioane de copii pentru prima tura de printare.

Lucru rar intalnit in acest tip de literatura, romanele au o poveste extrem de complicata, dar care nu te face sa uiti de ea pe noptiera, ci sa incerci sa deslusesti toate increngaturile, cu povesti de tradare, schimbari spectaculoase de situatie si veritabile investigatii.

Toate acestea, in peisajul jumatate basm, jumatate "realitate alternativa" pe care il formeaza peronul numarul 9 si 3/4, Colegiul Hogwarts sau terenul de quidditch (vaj-hat), poate cel mai "extrem" sport pe care-l veti vedea vreodata.

Ca orice poveste ce se respecta, seria "Harry Potter" imparte lumea in bine si rau, alb si negru, fara a fi lipsita de pete de gri: vrajitori care schimba taberele peste noapte, bestii ce nu tin cont de nimic, acte de magie care pot sa te salveze din ghearele mortii sau sa te arunce in ele.

Singurii care nu se abat de la calea binelui sunt cei trei prieteni Harry Potter, Ron Weasley si Hermione Granger.

J. K. Rowling - cea care a conturat universul Potter

Creatoarea lui Harry Potter, Joanne Rowling, s-a nascut la Chipping Sodbury, in Anglia, pe data de 31 iulie 1965. A facut studiile la Universitatea Exeter si din Paris. Este licentiata in limba si literatura franceza.

A lucrat pentru Amnesty International la Londra si a predat franceza, dar si-a dedicat ulterior cariera pasiunii sale, scrisul.

In 1995, intr-o zi cand calatorea cu trenul din Manchester la Londra, personajul Harry Potter incepe sa i se contureze in minte si de atunci si-a dedicat intreaga viata "pictand" in scris intreaga lume de la Scoala de Vrajitori si Vrajitoare Hogwarts.

Prim editor la care a apelat a refuzat-o, insa ea a insistat si a apelat la un al doilea, pe care povestea l-a convins sa riste intr-un scriitor debutant. Asa se face ca in 1997 a publicat primul volum din seria despre Harry Potter, iar la scurt timp primeste Premiul Englez pentru Cea Mai Buna Carte Pentru Copii a anului si Smarties Prize.

Dupa aparitia primei carti, J.K. Rowling termina de scris si cea de a doua carte, “Harry Potter si Camera Secretelor” care va fi publicata in Anglia in 1998 si in iunie 1999 in Statele Unite. Pana in vara anului 2000, J.K. Rowling castiga peste 400 de milioane de $ pentru primele 3 carti despre Harry Potter, tiparite in 35 de limbi in peste 30 de milioane de exemplare.

A patra carte, “Harry Potter si Pocalul de Foc” s-a vandut chiar inainte de a fi publicata in peste un milion de exemplare. Datorita succesului cartilor, in lista despre cele mai bune carti de literatura publicata de New York Times, s-a hotarat infiintarea unei liste a celor mai bune carti de literatura pentru copii.

Dupa zece ani, J. K. Rowling incheie, in iulie a.c., seria celor sapte volume despre micul varajitor, fortand piata sa gaseasca rapid un nou "fenomen" care sa exploateze asteptarile copiilor.

Ultimul volum Harry Potter, proaspat iesit de sub tipar

Ultimul volum din seria "Harry Potter", al romancierei britanice J. K. Rowling, a batut deja recordul de vanzari in afara Marii Britanii, prin intermediul comenzilor in avans, el urmand sa fie lansat pe piata abia pe 21 iulie, potrivit editurii Bloomsbury.

Numarul de exemplare din "Harry Potter si Sfintii Mortali" ("Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows") deja comandate pentru export depaseste 17% din volumul total de vanzari inregistrat in strainatate de volumul precedent.

Pentru publicarea volumului au fost luate masuri fara precedent: cartea e tiparita in secret, undeva in Germania, iar angajatii tipografiei lucreaza supravegheati, ca sa nu citeasca vreun rand.

Autoarea a anuntat ca doua personaje dragi vor muri si peste un milion de exemplare au fost comandate in avans pe Amazon.com, depasind recordul volumului precedent.

Filmul „Harry Potter si Ordinul Phoenix” se pregateste de premiera

Lansari cu surprize se asteapta si la premiera filmului „Harry Potter si Ordinul Phoenix”, adaptarea celui de-al cincilea volum, pe 11 iulie. Productia a fost prezentat in avanpremiera mondiala in Japonia, joi, cu cateva saptamani inainte de lansarea ultimului volum al francizei.

Atentia producatorilor americani fata de publicul nipon nu este una intamplatoare, mai ales ca partea a patra a seriei, ""Harry Potter si Pocalul de Foc", a devenit lider al box office-ului nipon in 2006, cu incasari de 66 milioane de euro.

In cel de-al cincilea film al seriei, Harry Potter, devenit adolescent, si colegii sai de la scoala de vrajitorii Poudlard se confrunta din nou cu puternicul vrajitor specialist in magie neagra Lord Voldemort, asasinul parintilor tanarului vrajitor.

Filmul. produs de studiourile Warner Bros si regizat de britanicul David Yates, a costat peste 150 de milioane de dolari.

Super eroii se pregatesc de majorat

Daca in primul film, "Harry Potter si piatra filozofala", din 2001, Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, Rupert Grint erau doar niste pusti, astazi, eroii fantastici, ajunsi la varsta adolescentei, sunt staruri planetare si le place distractia.

Daniel, care a jucat rolul baietelului-vrajitor, este acum un tanar de 17 ani, cu multe admiratoare, indragostit de ultimele tendinte din moda, in timp ce Emma, alias Hermione, s-a apucat de modelling si vrea sa studieze filozofia la Cambridge.

Al treilea erou, Rupert Grint, marturiseste, in schimb, ca adolescenta si trecerea de la ipostaza de copil-actor la cea de star au fost destul de complicate, insa statutul de vedeta nu l-a impiedicat sa se bucure de adolescenta, ca oricare tanar de varsta lui.

Vedetele din Harry Potter au acumulat si averi frumusele, Daniel asteptandu-si majoratul pe 23 iulie, pentru a intra in posesia averii de peste 20 de milioane de lire sterline. Cei trei se pregatesc intens pentru lansare si spera sa mai prinda cateva saptamani de vacanta in aceasta vara.

Urmatorul film din seria Harry Potter va fi lansat de catre Warner Bros in noiembrie si asa cum ne-am obisnuit sa se intample in ultimul
timp odata cu el Electronic Arts va propune si jocul omonim.

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire este povestea aventurilor prin care va trece Harry Potter in cadrul competitiei Triwizard Tournament in care trebuie sa infrunte un dragon, sa isi salveze prietenii din Black Lake si sa il infrunte chiar pe Lord Voldemort.

Jucatorii isi vor putea asuma identitatea lui Harry, Ron, sau Hermione, si pentru prima data grafica jocului se va baza pe actorii care interpreteaza acest roluri in film

Noutatile nu se opresc insa aici. Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire va avea si o componenta multiplayer, in care jucatorii vor putea coopera pentru a invinge demonii si pentru a duce la bun sfarsit aventurile din joc.

Tot in premiera, atunci cand jucatorii vor face o vraja, controller-ul va reactiona prin vibratii incercand sa reproduca miscarile baghetei magice.

Dupa cum era de asteptat, in afara faptului ca jocul va fi lansat pentru toate platformele de jocuri, vor exista si versiuni pentru consolele portabile, a caror dezvoltare a fost incredintata lui Electronic Arts UK.

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire este cea de-a patra carte a seriei. Pe data de 16 iulie va fi lansat cel de-al saselea titlu, Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince, numai pentru piata americana fiind pregatite 10.8 milioane de copii.

Adolescentinul Harry Potter are parte de o placere adolescentina in noul film din seria Harry Potter: un sarut.

Daniel Radcliffe, actorul britanic in varsta de 17 ani care il interpreteaza pe micul vrajitor Harry Potter, a avut un debut inedit pe mare ecran: primul sau sarut. Intre noi fie vorba, nici Harry si nici Daniel nu mai sunt asa mici. Studioul de film Warner Brothers a facut publica o fotografie realizata in timpul filmarilor, in care Harry Potter o saruta pe prima sa iubita, Cho Chang, interpretata de Katie Leung. Ambii actori s-au declarat incantati de experienta, amuzandu-se de faptul ca au fost necesare 30 de incercari pentru a obtine sarutul perfect pentru camera de filmat.

Daniel a adaugat insa ca toate scenele necesita in general un numar mare de repetitii si ca sarutul nu a fost o exceptie. El a declarat ca acum o multime de fani sunt hotarati sa vada filmul din cauza publicitatii pe care a primit-o scena romantica dintre Harry si Cho Chang.

Referindu-se la intamplarile din al cincilea episod al seriei, Daniel a afirmat ca acum Harry Potter descopera ca viata este grea si ca oamenii pot savarsi lucruri teribile: “Una dintre temele care caracterizeaza seria filmelor este pierderea inocentei”, a spus tanarul actor.
